Anne Sharp of Umatilla Passes Away at 81

Anne Corrine Sharp of Umatilla passed away on Feb. 2, 2018 in Richland, Wash. at the age of 81.

She was born on Aug. 14, 1936 in Sagle, Idaho (in a shack between two trees) to Alphonse and Edna Larson Turcotte.

Anne was raised by her mother Edna and stepfather Clarence Gottberg. As a child, she lived in California, northern Idaho and Spokane, Wash., where she graduated from high school. She married Boyd Sharp in Spokane on June 24, 1956. The couple lived in Spokane, Baker City, Pendleton and Klamath Falls before moving to Umatilla in 2000.

Anne loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment she had with them. She enjoyed giving Hallmark Christmas ornaments to her grandchildren and great grandchildren annually. Taking photos of family to create photo albums and update her wall collages was important to her. She enjoyed hosting family reunions and get-togethers. She was an excellent homemaker, kept a spotless home, was a talented cook, and loved caring for her husband and children. She also enjoyed gardening, planting her flowers, working in her yard and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Boyd; sons, Rocky Sharp and Mike (Jo) Sharp; daughters, Deb (Joel) Underwood, Sue Sharp and Barbara (Mark) Lizotte; grandchildren, Cindy, Shane, Rachel, Aaron, Anna, Andrea, Joe, Stephanie, Leah, TJ, Chantal, Josh and Bella; 12 great grandchildren; and brothers, Roy and Leon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Billy Gottberg.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Boys Town.
