Annette Marie Gallegos of Hermiston passed away peacefully at her home in Hermiston surrounded by her family on Aug. 4, 2021 at the age of 55.
She was born on March 27, 1966 in Rupert, Idaho.
Annette grew up and attended school in Hermiston and Nampa, Idaho. She married Costantino Lopez in Idaho in 1981. The couple later divorced.
Annette was a gypsy spirit living spur of the moment and never setting roots in any one place. She loved doing arts and crafts, such as making dream catchers and roses out of clay, drawing, coloring and collecting unicorns. She was an outstanding cook and loved family gatherings so she could share some of her great pastas and macaroni salad with family and friends. She also enjoyed getting dressed up and going dancing. She was an accomplished pool player and had played in several pool leagues. She was also a supportive shoulder to cry on and a person who you could confide in when times were difficult. She loved her family very much and cherished the times she had with her grandchildren. “Mom was such an animated story teller, we loved to listen to her share memories, life experiences and personal adventures.”
She is survived by her daughters, Sonia (Noe) Monreal and Yesenia Marie Lopez; son, Orlando Cruz Lopez; mother and stepfather, Irene and Ismael Virgin; sister, Carma Montes; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jake and Michael Gallegos.
A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
