An inmate at Two Rivers Correctional Institution was found dead early Thursday morning – the fourth death of an inmate at the prison since November.

According to the Oregon Department of Corrections, Dean Wayne Guiley was found unresponsive around 7 a.m. in his housing unit and was pronounced dead shortly after. Guiley was in prison for three counts of kidnapping and one count of assault out of Lane County. His earliest release date was January 2043. The corrections department is calling the death “unexpected” and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab is investigating the death.

Guiley’s death comes a little more than two months after 31-year-old Damion Banks died at the prison. Ten days before Banks’ death, Shane Michael Morris, 39, was found unconscious in his cell and later died. On Nov. 30, inmate Larry Hurst, 67, died in prison.

Two Rivers Correctional Institution is a medium- and minimum-security facility that houses approximately 1,800 male inmates.
