High school juniors in Umatilla, Morrow and Union counties whose parent or guardian is a current member of Umatilla Electric Cooperative (UEC) are encouraged to apply for the 2024 Washington D.C. Youth Tour.
UEC will pay all the expenses involved with the trip other than spending money.
Youth Tour delegates will represent Oregon and the Northwest and join more than 1,500 other students from across the United States for the once-in-a-lifetime trip. During the trip, students will visit famous historical sites, meet with Oregon’s congressional leaders, and learn valuable leadership skills. The students will also learn about electric cooperatives and current issues in energy and climate change legislation that face their communities and the United States.
The selected students will represent Umatilla Electric Cooperative and will join other Oregon delegates for a trip to Washington, D.C. The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Tour will be held from June 16 – 23, 2024.
