The free annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway, hosted by the Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department and the Hermiston Rotary Club, is set for Saturday, April 5 at 9 a.m. in the Hermiston Community Center parking lot.
This year’s choices are red maple, river birch select, European mountain ash, bald cypress, littleleaf linden and Japanese zelkova. Be sure to do some research prior to arriving and know where you will be planting the trees. There is no limit, but please practice moderation and consider the supply on hand.
Entry into the drive-through event will be from Third Street behind the building only – please, no stopping or forming a line on Highway 395. For more information, call the parks department at 541-667-5018.
