Arlene Alice Hoffnagle died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Hermiston Terrace Assisted Living Facility in Hermiston at the age of 77.
She was born June 25, 1936 at Vancouver, Wash., to Floyd A. and Alice Jane (Hammond) Tobin. She was raised on Feedville (Loop) Road near Stanfield. She graduated from Stanfield High School in 1954. Arlene lived in the Hermiston/Stanfield/ Umatilla area all her life. She worked as a bartender at the Pheasant Café for 10 years and also at the 3 C’s restaurant in Umatilla. On March 15, 1979, she married John Victor Hoffnagle in Reno, Nev. She was a member of the Stanfield Moose Lodge. Arlene enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, boating, the outdoors, gardening, camping, and trips to Wildhorse Casino.
She is survived by son, Jeff and his wife Judy Tobin of Hermiston; two grandsons, Matthew and Daniel Tobin; and two great-grandsons, Bradan and Noah Tobin.
She was preceded in death by husband, John V. Hoffnagle in 1980; sister, Lorraine Wright; and nephew, Christian DeBord.
Memorial graveside services were held on Thursday, July 11, at Pleasant View Cemetery in Stanfield.
