Armand Larive Middle School’s choir program is the recipient of $770 in funding from the Umatilla County Cultural Coalition.

The funds will cover the ticket costs for 50 students to see Restless Vocal Band, who will perform April 15, at Hermiston High School, as part of Desert Arts Council spring lineup.

“The kids and I are so grateful to Umatilla County Cultural Coalition for their generous grant,” said music teacher Brooke Baker. “This gives kids the unique opportunity to see high caliber performances they many never get to have again. The award is the second grant we have received from Umatilla County Cultural Coalition. They have been an amazing support for students’ exposure to the arts.”

Umatilla County Cultural Coalition is made up of individuals representing the arts, heritage and humanities in Umatilla County. The group strives to increase the awareness of cultural organizations and activities in the county. Through their local grants they provide funding to support goals in the Umatilla County Cultural Plan.
