Arvin Hunsaker Passes Away at 81

Arvin L. Hunsaker of Hermiston died on March 20, 2018 in Walla Walla, Wash. at the age of 81.

He was born on Aug. 24, 1936 in Rigby, Idaho to Ethel Agnes Butler and Lars Pearl Hunsaker.

He went to school at Rigby High School. He married Idona Mae Sims on Aug. 8, 1959 in Blackfoot, Idaho. Arvin and Idona were the parents of four children. They moved to Oregon from Idaho in 1976.

Arvin worked as a farm laborer for Mikami Brothers Farm for 24 years. He was a supporter of Umatilla High School sports and was known as their number one fan for many years. Arvin served as a greeter in the Umatilla Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed watching westerns and classic television and time spent visiting with friends and family.

Arvin is survived by his children, Carma Mae Williams (Ted), Bobette Hilburn (Ken), Arvin Grant Hunsaker (Nataly), and Trevor Leon Hunsaker (Deborah); his sister, Velma Dinsdale (Donald); 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Arvin was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Elva, Melva, Norma, Eleanora, Verenna, Ina, Josephine and Delia; and his wife, Idona Mae.

His ashes will be interred at a graveside service to be held on June 23, 2018 at Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho.
