According to a press release from the city of Umatilla, big changes have come to Big River Golf Course.
Golfers hitting the links at Big River now have the convenience of securing their preferred playing times online versus having to call the pro shop for reservations.
The online system is user friendly for newcomers to booking tee times online, as well as those familiar with the process – but golfers may still call in to book tee times. Walk-in slots will remain available throughout the day.
Along with online bookings, Big River has also launched advanced GPS technology which will be used to monitor on-course play from the pro shop. Staff will have a real-time view, enabling them to handle issues instantly.
“The city of Umatilla is highly invested in Big River Golf Course and is committed to making it an asset that is enjoyable for golfers of all ages and abilities,” said Megan Olson, golf course administrative supervisor. “Considerable improvements have been made to the irrigation system, equipment upgrades, a new cart fleet, additional cart storage sheds, and increased staffing levels. The city is dedicated to continuing these enhancements, making the course a source of pride for community members and guests alike.”
