William George “Bill” Walchli passed away at Peace Health Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash. on Oct. 10, 2022 at the age of 68.
He was born on July 21, 1954 in Umatilla to George and Irene Walchli.
He grew up in Hermiston and later moved to Vancouver, Wash. as an adult, where he remained a resident until his death.
As a young man, Bill enjoyed listening to music and playing trumpet. He also enjoyed going hunting with his uncles and family members. He was a talented auto mechanic and worked on so many people’s cars, and always for free. Most of all, Bill was a loving family man. He spent time with his family, whether it was home remodeling, or just hanging out with them or going to special events. He and his wife particularly enjoyed spending time at the ocean.
Gone, but not forgotten. Bill enjoyed gardening and music and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen and his four stepsons, Chris, Brian, Paul and David. They had such respect for Bill and always called him “The Badass” because they said, “No matter how tough things were, Bill always powered through.” He also leaves behind his six kids, Stacey, Jodi, Chris, Holly, Cameron and Cody; 11 grandchildren, Rachel, Jackson, Colby, Luke, Aria, Matthew, Sydney, Brooke, Oland, Matthew and Wyatt; and two great grandchildren, Chloe and Colt. Bill is also survived by his mother, Irene Walchli; four siblings, Maria, James, Robert and Paul Walchli; as well as several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Walchli; father, George E. Walchli; and a sister, Susan Walchli.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Walchli Farms, 32697 E. Loop Road on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
