Umatilla High School is hosting a Bingo Night next week to help send UHS band members to Music in May at Pacific University.
The night begins at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6 in the UHS commons. Nine rounds of Bingo cost $10 and earns the player a chance to win a number of prizes, including: “A Day at the Spa” for your car at Tom Denchel Ford (a $450 value) and a Twilight basket containing all the movies (a $120 value).
Music in May was founded in 1948 at Pacific University to encourage development of string music in public schools in the Pacific Northwest. Band and choir were soon added at the suggestion of high school music directors. Each year, more than 500 students participate. This year’s event will take place May 23-25 at the Pacific University campus in Forest Grove.
Registration costs $225 per student, including meals and housing.
