As many as 20 vehicles collided due to black ice on Interstate 84 near Baker City early Saturday morning, blocking about 50 vehicles at the crash scene and closing off all eastbound lanes.
According to the Oregon State Police, at around 5 a.m., an estimated 20 vehicles, including a Fed Ex truck and two vehicles transporting hazardous materials, collided on the eastbound lanes, blocking all traffic. Four people were transported with minor to serious injuries.
The cause of the collisions was black ice.
Crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation and emergency responders are at the scene.
OSP expects to release more details later.
