Community College now have a place to access resources, study and meet other veterans with the opening of BMCC’s Veteran’s Resource Center in Morrow Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
The public is invited to attend the Center’s grand opening celebration on Oct. 10 from 1:30-4 p.m. Bob Small, the former Campus Student Veteran Coordinator and Veteran Service Officer from the Oregon Department of Veterans Services will speak, as will Gus Bedwell from the Oregon Department of Veteran’s Affairs. BMCC President Cam Preus will also address the group, along with BMCC student veteran peer mentors.
“Opening the Veteran’s Resource Center is an exciting opportunity for BMCC to better connect with and provide resources to our students who are veterans,” Preus said. “We are so thankful for their service to our country, so providing a place for them to gather, study and gain resources is one way we can show our gratitude and help them towards their educational goals.”
The Veteran’s Resource Center was made possible through a $50,500 grant from the Oregon Department of Veteran’s Affairs, which the College received last year. The Center is located within the Student Success Center in Morrow Hall on the Pendleton campus, 2411 N.W. Carden Ave.
