The Betty Feves Memorial Art Gallery is the exclusive exhibition host for Art About Agriculture 2017: “Places to Thrive.”

Established in 1983, Art About Agriculture is an annual invitational art exhibition organized by the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University through its Art About Agriculture program.

The exhibition will feature fine art by professional and emerging Pacific Northwest artists that is inspired by, based on and portraying agriculture and this year’s theme of “Places to Thrive.” The community is invited to attend the Opening Reception at the Gallery in Pioneer Hall on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. at Blue Mountain Community College. The event is free, family-friendly, and light refreshments will be served. The Art About Agriculture exhibition coincides with the grand opening of the new FARM (Facility for Agricultural Resource Management) building on BMCC’s Pendleton campus.

“We wanted to start the new academic year with an art show with an agriculture theme to add to all of the excitement around the opening of the FARM building,” said Lori Sams, Feves Gallery director. “Partnering with OSU’s Art About Agriculture program is a tremendous opportunity, and we are thrilled to host this year’s exhibit.”

The FARM Grand Opening Celebration will also take place on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:45 p.m. People who want to attend both events are encouraged to start at the FARM celebration, then head to the Feves Gallery afterwards.
