Blue Mountain Community College is seeking to fill vacant positions on its Board of Education for Zone 3 in Pendleton and Zone 5 in Hermiston. The vacancies come following the Nov . 1 resignation of Eddie De La Cruz, and the Dec. 8 resignation of Ed Taber.
Zone 3 includes Pendleton precincts 107, 110, 112, 113, 114, 115, 117, 137, 141, 142, and 143.
Zone 5 includes Hermiston precincts 103, 126, 127, and 128.
Interested citizens in Zone 3 and 5 may apply for the Board positions between now and Jan. 5. The is expected to screen and appoint applicants at its Jan. 11, 2017 meetinBMCC Board of Educationg. The applicants selected by the Board to fill the vacancies will serve in the positions through June 30, 2017.
Interested candidates should be a registered voter in Umatilla County, as well as a resident of one of the precincts in that zone. Applicants must submit a letter of interest to the BMCC Board of Education, PO Box 100, Pendleton, Ore., 97801, by Jan. 5, 2017.
