The Blue Mountain Community College Foundation has announced that 76 students have been awarded 90 Foundation scholarships totaling $105,750.
These scholarships are awarded based on academic performance and need, helping students cover tuition and educational expenses at Blue Mountain Community College (BMCC).
In this first round of awards, the foundation received 98 scholarship applications from students across 10 Oregon counties and four adjacent states. The second round will open Sept. 1 and run through Oct. 11, 2023. The BMCC Foundation has more than $134,000 to be awarded in the second round. Any current or prospective student planning to attend BMCC during the 2023/24 academic year is encouraged to apply.
“We have an outstanding cross-section of students each year,” said Ken Daniel, foundation executive director. “One theme that stands out, again and again, is the importance of perspective, and how problem-solving in any relationship or obstacle is always best facilitated when approached with an open mind and willingness to look at things from all sides.”
