Students interested in attending college are invited to attend one of two College Nights hosted by Blue Mountain Community College tonight to learn more about how to start the process.
College Nights will be held simultaneously tonight from 6-8:30 p.m. at both the BMCC campus in Pendleton (Science & Tech Building, Rm. 200) and Hermiston High School (Commons).
The College Night event is free, and participants will be served free pizza and drinks while they attend presentations about why they should consider attending college, how to choose the right college or academic program, how to fund their college educations, how to search for scholarships, and how to avoid scholarship scams. Students may also receive assistance with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
At the end of the night, BMCC will draw for three $500 scholarships at both locations of the event.
The College Night events in Pendleton and Hermiston are facilitated by BMCC and funded by Education Credit Management Corp. The Hermiston event will be presented in both English and Spanish.
