Blue Mountain Community College has hired Savanah Scarborough as its new assistant softball coach.
Scarborough joins head coach Steve Richards, who BMCC hired to helm the Lady Timberwolves earlier this summer. Scarborough began her coaching duties Oct. 1.
“I am excited to have Savannah begin her coaching career at Blue Mountain,” Richards said. “She brings a wealth of experience at multiple levels and will benefit the College and our student athletes.”
Scarborough graduated from Walla Walla High School in 2011, where her team took the state title. She then played second base for Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Wash., where she graduated with her associate’s degree in
2013. She then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, to attend AIB (American Institute for Business) College of Business where she joined a brand new softball program. She graduated from AIB in June 2015 with a degree in business administration and a minor in athletic coaching.
“I admire and respect hard work, and I believe that no role is too small,” Scarborough said. “I cannot wait to be a
Timberwolf.”
