While the contract renewal was approved as part of the Board’s consent agenda during its regular monthly meeting, Board Chair Ed Taber said earlier in the evening that he appreciates all that Preus has done in the past three years to advance the College.

Board member Susan Plass, who is a retired BMCC employee, said that in all of her years of involvement with BMCC, she has never seen the College in a better place. Board members also praised Preus’ professionalism and ability to form positive relationships on and off campus.

Preus was quick to credit her “team” at the College for laying the groundwork for success and allowing her to do her job well.

“We could not have passed a bond, or have been so successful with our student success initiatives, or have improved relationships across campus without those who work with me and throughout the College,” Preus said. “I’m also fortunate to have a Board that trusts and supports me.”

Preus’ new contract with the College will run through June 30, 2019.
