Blue Mountain Community College’s search for a new president is one step closer to fruition. The search committee of employees, students, Board of Education members, and community members has narrowed down a pool of 44 applicants to nine semifinalists.
The nine applicants will be interviewed by the search committee Jan. 17-18 via Zoom, the college’s videoconferencing technology. The committee will then narrow down the semifinalists to three to five finalists, who will be invited to come to BMCC for additional in-person interviews, meet with faculty, staff and students, as well as the community in a variety of forums that will occur sometime in mid-February.
The names of the semifinalists are confidential, but the names of the finalists will be released prior to their visits to the college in February.
The BMCC presidential search is being conducted by Dr. Preston Pulliams, CEO of Gold Hill Associates, an executive search firm that works with community colleges around the nation. The BMCC Board of Education hopes to have a new president hired by spring.
