Boardman Adopts City, URA Budgets

The Boardman City Council adopted the 2017-2018 city budget of $20,686,642.00 and the Urban Renewal Agency adopted its 2017-2018 budget of $2,835,850.00 on Tuesday.

City property taxes will be levied at a rate of $4.2114 per $1000 of assessed valuation and $441,000 will be levied for bonded indebtedness not subject to Measure 5 or Measure 50 limitations.

City Finance Director Thomas Kligel said the city will end the current fiscal year, ending June 30, 2017, in a strong cash position. The focus for 2017-2018 will be to support continued housing development started in the previous years, additionally, activity in city road maintenance and to be proactive in the continued development of the Urban Renewal District’s projected long-term capital projects.

In other city business, the council approved the first reading of an ordinance for a franchise agreement with Zayo Group, LLC, a communications infrastructure service company. The next meeting of the Boardman City Council will be Tuesday, July 11 at 7 p.m.
