Blue Mountain Community College has received commitments from eight new student-athletes for the 2018 Timberwolf season during the college early signing period.
Fourth-year Head Coach Brad Baker is excited for the new crop of Timberwolves.
“I feel like we have a great group of student-athletes out of the early commits,” Baker said. “We have signed eight players that excel on the baseball field and in the classroom. We are excited for them to be a part of our athletic and academic communities at Blue Mountain.”
The new players include:
• Antonio Flores, shortstop, pitcher, Stanfield High School, Stanfield
• Nate Newbry, utility, Southridge High School, Kennewick, Wash.
• Jayson Burge, pitcher, Zillah High School, Zillah, Wash.
• Noah Keough, shortstop, pitcher, Wilson High School, Portland
• Joseph Hixenbaugh, outfield, Reedsport High School, Reedsport
• Hunter Hughes, third base, Tigard High School, Tigard
• Colton Makenister, pitcher, outfield, Columbia High School, Nappa, Idaho
• Kellen Harding, pitcher, outfield, Lake Stevens High School, Lake Stevens, Wash.
“Between this group and our strong returning class, we are excited about the future at Blue Mountain,” Baker said.
The Timberwolves take the field for the first home game against Columbia Basin College at 11 a.m. on Feb. 24.
