Boardman City Council Appoints Stokoe as City Manager Pro Tem

Richard Stokoe has a third role within the city of Boardman after the Boardman City Council appointed him as city manager pro tem at its Thursday meeting.

The council voted 5-1 to appointe Stokoe to the role. Stokoe is also the city’s police chief as well as assistant city manager.

Former City Manager Karen Pettigrew’s resignation was accepted earlier in the week leaving the vacancy. Pettigrew was elected to the city council in November.

The city is currently working with Strategic Government Resources of Keller, Texas to recruit candidates to fill the city manager position on a full-time basis. On Feb. 2, the city will host a public meet and greet for the finalists for the position and panel interviews will be held the following day. The city is hopeful sometime in March to have the new city manager is place.

The next regularly scheduled city council meeting will be Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at Boardman City Hall.
