The Boardman City Council awarded a bid this week for water and sewer improvements to Premier Excavation, Inc. of Pasco, Wash.
The project has been in the planning stages since 2014 and will include new water and sewer lines in several areas of Boardman including S. Main Street, Wilson Lane and Faler Road. Sixteen bids were received for the project, with Premier Excavation coming in the with the apparent lowest bid of $2,276,119.10. The city’s engineers, Anderson Perry and Associates, has worked with this contractor in the past. The water and sewer upgrades are expected to begin in January of 2018 and be completed in October of 2018.
In other city business, the council approved a resolution establishing a Health Reimbursement Program for city employees. They also approved a resolution approving an agreement between the sponsors of the Columbia River Enterprise Zone and VaData, Inc. The city council also rescheduled their Jan. 2, regular meeting to Jan. 9.
