Boardman City Council Seeks to Fill Two Vacancies at Next Meeting

The Boardman City Council is seeking letters of interest from individuals willing to be considered for appointment to fill two vacancies on the city council.

One person appointed will fill Katy Norton’s seat, who resigned on July 12 due to moving away from the area. The second person appointed will fill Paul Beagle’s seat, who resigned on July 15 citing personal issues. Both resignations were accepted at the Aug. 2 council meeting. Both terms expire Dec. 31, 2024.

Those interested must have resided in the city of Boardman during the 12 months immediately preceding the appointment and be a registered voter. Letters of interest must be received no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 24 to City Manager Karen Pettigrew at Boardman City Hall for consideration. The council will interview the candidates, and appoint the new councilors at the Sept. 6, council meeting.
