The city of Boardman is gearing up for this year’s Boardman Thunder Fourth of July Celebration in Marina Park. The event is free for the whole family except for the 5K and 10K Color Run/Walk.
The Boardman Boy Scouts will serve a pancake breakfast in the park from 7 to 10 a.m. Registration and check-in for the Color Run/Walk at Riverside Jr/Sr High School are at 7:30 a.m., and the race starts at 8. The parade goes from 11 a.m. to noon on Main Street, Columbia Avenue and Boardman Avenue.
The fun continues with the CYSC Youth Soccer Tournament at 12:30 p.m., and the Boardman Police Reserves 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at the Boardman Pool & Recreation Center at 1 p.m. Activities in the park go from 12:30 to 10 p.m., including food and retail vendors, kids’ games, music from D.j. Kora, a horse shoe tournament, live music from Cruise Control from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and fireworks over the Columbia River at 10.
