The Boardman Parks and Recreation District has hired a company out of Portland to do a feasibility study for a proposed recreation facility in Boardman.

The chamber is encouraging the public to take part in an online survey to assess the feasibility of the center.

The district has hired the firm, Marketek, to help assess market demand and ability to pay for recreation services. The proposed concept includes a weight room, aerobics space, gym (that could accommodate indoor soccer), climbing wall, classroom and swimming pool.

“This fitness center is needed not only for your wellbeing, but the wellbeing of our community and your business,” said Boardman Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Diane Wolfe. “Have as many people fill this out as you can. If you are not from Boardman, fill it out anyway. It will be helpful to know your ideas, too, because you will have access to the facility.”
