Clayton M. “Clay” Moore died on Nov. 16, 2014 at his home in Boardman at the age of 61.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1953 in Salem to Glen and Margaret Miller Moore. Clayton was raised in Boardman. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served stateside and overseas. He was honorably discharged and returned home and went to work as an iron worker. Clayton was united in marriage to Mildred “Millie” Toy on May 28, 1984 in Kennewick, Wash. He worked on heavy construction projects for many years until his health forced him to retire in 2002. They then returned to Boardman where they have lived since. Clayton enjoyed fishing, animals, gardening and most of all time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Millie Moore, Boardman; his mother, Margaret Moore, Hermiston; daughters, Elisha Foster (James), Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sheila Dickson (Mike), Idaho Falls, Idaho, Teri Fisher (Jeremy), Washougal, Wash.; brother, Mike Moore, Boardman; sisters, Carolyn Moore (Alan), Boardman, Bonnie Moore, Missouri, Glenda Cooper (Gary), North Dakota, and Sharon Atkission (Leroy), Missouri; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Clayton was preceded in death by his father, Glen Moore.
A celebration of life gathering with military honors will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 200 Willowfork Drive, Boardman.
