It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Okeson of Boardman, Oregon. Bob passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2015 at the age of 66. Bob bravely battled cancer with strength, dignity and a determination that inspired us all.
Bob was born on Aug. 24, 1948 in Huntington Park, Calif. After graduating high school, he attended college and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Marine Corp. He proudly served his country in combat in Vietnam.
Bob worked in various parts of the U.S. and made many friends along the way. Bob was the General Manager of the River Lodge and Grill in Boardman for the past nine years. The Lodge was his pride and joy. He gave everything he had to make sure the Lodge was run productively and efficiently. Bob had an out-going personality, and won the respect of many.
To say the least, Bob was an avid Seahawks fan. He never missed a game and was so excited when they won the Super Bowl last year. Bob also had an interest in NASCAR racing and was looking forward to the racing season to begin.
Bob is remembered by his loving wife, Lori; his mother, Joy; sister, Linda; brother, Richard; stepdaughters, Jillian (Matt) and Cassandra (Andrew); precious granddaughters, Tessa and Adrianna; Lori’s parents, Elmer and Evelyn; and her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Al; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his father, Robert Okeson, Sr.; and his sister, Irene.
Bob will be forever missed by his loving family, the staff at the Riverside Lodge and Grill and everyone who knew him.
