Bob Denney Passes Away at 50

Robert A. “Bob” Denney of Hermiston passed away on Feb. 4, 2020 in Federal Way, Wash. after complications from surgery at the age of 50.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1970 in Redding, Calif. to Jerrye and Dennis Denney.

Bob lived his early life in Anderson, Calif., where he graduated from high school and volunteered as a firefighter. He later moved to Washington and worked as a baker for Safeway and for Alaska Airlines as a luggage handler. Bob moved to Hermiston and went to work as a guard at Two Rivers Correctional Institution. He was diagnosed with MS and later retired because of failing health.

He is survived by his daughter, Autumn Denney, Hermiston; mother, Jerrye Kopp, Auburn, Wash.; sister, Susan Widdell (Eddie), Umatilla; three nieces, Morgan Arik, Irrigon, Tiffany Arik, Kennewick, Wash. and Shaelynn Gilbert, Hermiston; nephew, Stetson Gilbert, Hermiston; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Denney; stepfather, Jerry Kopp; brother, William A. Denney; and his grandparents.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
