Robert “Bob” L. Friend died on May 21, 2017 in Hermiston at the age of 70.
He was born on Sept. 13, 1946 in Walla Walla, Wash. to Lee and Anna Meads Friend.
He grew up in Hermiston and graduated from Hermiston High School in the mid-1960s. He began his career as an electrician for IBEW #125. He worked as an electrician at the coal energy plant in Boardman for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Titus, in 2009, and by his parents.
He is survived by his cousin, Ivan Meads, Hermiston, and his wife Margaret, and several distant relatives.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Burns Mortuary Chapel, 685 W. Hermiston Ave.
