Bonnie Walls of Hermiston died on March 25, 2024 in Hermiston at the age of 96.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1927 in Mountain Home, Idaho to Edward and Martha Hicks.
Bonnie was raised and attended school in Vale before moving to Hermiston, where she graduated high school. She was united in marriage to Murtis “Murt” Walls on Aug. 16, 1947 in Hermiston. They started their family and Bonnie stayed home for several years with their children. Bonnie later worked at the Umatilla Army Depot for several years before working at Lamb Weston until she retired.
She served as a Cub Scout leader and a 4-H leader for several years and she was the neighborhood mom. Her home was always open to all the neighborhood kids and her children’s friends. Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, traveling, flowers and time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Rick Walls and his wife Doris, Hermiston; daughter, Judy Culp and her husband Dennis, Hermiston; sister, Edna Faye Snyder, Hermiston; grandchildren, Kenny, Jackie, Stacey, Kimberly, Robbie and Keith; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Murt Walls; son, Ronnie Walls; her parents; and a sister, Ila Mae Woodward.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
