Albert V. “Bud” Smith of Hermiston passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2023 at his home in Hermiston.
He was born on May 7, 1931 in Cement, Okla. to Bennie and Margaret Smith.
Bud spent 20 years in the U.S. Navy and upon his retirement he moved to Hermiston. He married Marilyn on Feb. 24, 1968. She preceded him in death in 2020.
After his retirement, Bud owned and operated the Shoe Cobbler for a period of time and later built several houses and sold them.
He is survived by a sister, Juanita of Tracy, Calif.; daughter, Sheri (Terry) Haight; sons, Larry (Heather) Smith, Jerry (Julie) Smith and Terry (Vienay) Smith; daughter, Kari (Richard) Faubion; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Margaret Hempe and husband Tony.
A private family burial will be held.
