The Hermiston Bulldogs football team has been selected as the MaxPreps Oregon Team of the Week, presented by the Oregon National Guard.
The 9-1 Bulldogs have won five straight, including a 17-0 shutout over Sandy last week in the 5A state playoffs.
The Bulldogs were honored Tuesday night with the award presentation at Hermiston High School by Oregon Army National Guard SFC Greg Cortaberria.
The Bulldogs have been an offensive force, totaling 449 points on the season while giving up just 142.
“It all starts with a dedicated group of seniors,” Bulldogs Head Coach Mark Hodges said. “Our seniors have tremendous faith in each other and in our coaches and we are all willing to give each other our best. We started having meetings every two weeks starting last January which featured setting goals and expectations.”
The Bulldogs continue their quest for a state title on Friday when they hit the road to take on the 9-1 Liberty Falcons.
