Once again, the bulls proved to be too much for the cowboys at the Farm-City Pro Rodeo – even more so than Wednesday when just two riders made it to the bell.
On Thursday, the bulls ran the table, bucking off all six cowboys during the evening. That leaves the two cowboys who managed to stay on Wednesday still in the lead – Chase Robbins with 77 and Shawn Proctor with a score of 79.
In bareback riding, Caine Riddle had the top score of night on Thursday with an 83, followed closely by Tyler Scales’ 82. George Gillespie and Tyler Nelson each scored 78s. Riddle and Scale trail Wednesday night’s leaders, Jr. Vezain with an 86 and Seth Hardwick, who notched an 84.
Tyrell Smith joined Troy Crowser and Cody DeMoss – the leaders from Wednesday – in the saddle bronc category with an 80. Also on Thursday, Jeremy Melancon and Joe Harper scored 78s. They trail Kaleb Asay’s 79 from Wednesday.
In the tie-down competition, Nate Baldwin had the fastest time on Thursday with an 8.5, trailing only Marty Yates’ score of 8.3 on Wednesday. Cody Ohl leads in the combined time with Wednesday’s 18.2, with Blair Burke coming in with a combined time of 18.8 on Thursday.
In steer wrestling, the fastest time in the evening was 13.0 seconds by Hunter Cure, who has a combined time of 18.2 after Thursday’s slack time of 5.2 to take the lead.
Carmel Wright had the fastest time in barrel racing on Thursday with a 17.44, followed closely by Jody Sheffield’s 17.49. They both trail Wednesday’s leader, Carlee Pierce, who clocked in at 16.92 and leads with a combined time of 34.05.
In team roping, Luke Brown and Kollin VonAhn had runs of 5.7 and 4.5 for a total of 10.5 for Thursday and trail Day One leaders Jake Long and Coleman Proctor, who had times of 4.7 and 5.2 for a total of 9.9 on Wednesday.
