Calvin Robert Hack Sr. passed away on Aug. 17, 2024 at home in Hermiston at the age of 76.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1947 to Robert and Olga Herndier Hack in Bellingham, Wash.
In 1968, Calvin married Carol Ann Johnston in Hermiston. Together they had three children, Calvin Jr., Melissa and Craig. As a family they spent many years in Pilot Rock, Prineville and Gates, then in 1994 they returned to Eastern Oregon until 2016 when they moved to Coos Bay. Calvin returned to Hermiston, in April 2023 to be near family.
Calvin was a diesel mechanic for 40-plus years. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
Calvin is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Ryan) Mayenschein, Hermiston; son, Craig Hack of Holly Springs, N.C.; grandchildren, Errin (Ray) Law of South Carolina, Heather (Nathan) Carter and Calvin III (Rosanna) Hack of Central Oregon, and Tirah Jo and Tucker Mayenschein of Hermiston; and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; son, Calvin Jr.; grandson, Casen Hack; and great-granddaughter, Viola Jo.
A private family burial will be held.
