Candy Cane Village, sponsored by Good Shepherd Health Care System, will be open all holiday season long at the Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center (EOTEC), offering a unique holiday experience.

Candy Cane Village expands the drive-through Land of Lights display with a free lighted walk-through tour, transforming the Farm-City Rodeo Arena into winter wonderland. Also new this year is an iceless skating rink at the Candy Cane Village entrance.

The fun begins on Friday, Dec. 6 as part of Hermiston’s Land of Lights community-wide celebration. The Candy Cane Village and Land of Lights will be open Thursdays-Sundays in December from 5-9 p.m.

The skating rink will remain open throughout December. Visitors can lace up their skates for $5 for youth, $7 for adults, with free rentals with cost of entry. Rink hours are from 5-8 p.m. on Fridays, Noon-8 p.m. on Saturdays, and Noon-6 p.m. on Sundays from Dec. 6-Jan. 4.

“Candy Cane Village adds an exciting new dimension to Hermiston’s Land of Lights,” said Al Davis, general manager of EOTEC. “It’s a place where families can stroll at their own pace, enjoy the beautiful lights, share a hot cup of cocoa, and create new holiday memories. We’re grateful for our community partners Good Shepherd Health Care System and AWS for helping bring it to life.”

Candy Cane Village is part of an exciting weekend in Hermiston that kicks off the community celebration:

  • Thursday, Dec. 5: Hermiston Tree Lighting Celebration & Lighted Parade in Downtown Hermiston
  • Friday-Saturday, Dec. 6-7: Holiday Market and skating rink at Candy Cane Village (EOTEC)
