Carol L. Correa of Echo passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sept. 26, 2018 at the age of 79.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1938 in Portland to Robert and Neoam Ross Loop.
Carol was raised in Netarts and graduated from Tillamook High School in 1956. She moved to Stanfield in 1957 where she met her future husband, David L. Correa. They were united in marriage on April 19, 1958 in Hermiston. They made their home and raised their three children in Echo.
Carol went to work for Dr. Norman “Doc” Clark DDS, Hermiston in July 1967 as his chairside assistant. She retired in 2002 after 35 years of service.
Carol enjoyed spending time at their mountain cabin watching and feeding the wildlife. She enjoyed watching her children participate in sporting events. She never missed a game. Her favorite sporting event was watching the Little League World Series. She couldn’t wait for August to come around every year. Carol loved the companionship of her dogs and kitties.
Carol’s home and cabin were always open to family and friends. It was always filled with warmth and fun and plenty of great food. Carol truly enjoyed making people happy. Her life was spent putting the needs of her family and friends first. She was a gift to her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David L. Correa of Echo; children, Kari (Brent) Yates of Dayton, Jeff (Kathi) Correa of Echo, Shelli Correa of Mt. Vernon; mother-in-law, Cecilia Correa of Echo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Cathey Correa of Echo; very special family friend, Anita Dorn of Echo; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Fran Caylor; brother, Bob Loop; and other family members.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hodgen Distributing’s banquet room, 4340 Westgate, Pendleton.
