Carol Y. Hanson Slaybaugh of Hermiston died on May 25, 2023 in Pendleton at the age of 85.
She was born on July 25, 1937 in Kalispell, Mont. to Richard and Josephine Sundt Hanson.
Carol was raised in Summers and Kalispell, Mont., where she attended school. She married Darrell Slaybaugh on Oct. 30, 1954 in Whitefish, Mont. Darrell worked in road construction so they lived in Kalispell, Mont., Spokane, Wash. and Klamath Falls. Darrell preceded her in death in 2009 and Carol moved to Hermiston in 2013, where she had lived since. She cherished spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lockhart and son-in-law James, Hermiston; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Kathy Isaac and Kim Davis; her parents; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason; and a great-granddaughter, Olyvia.
At her request, there will be no service.
