No injuries were reported Tuesday in a house fire in Hermiston.
Umatilla County Fire District #1 was dispatched to a structure fire at 2:44 p.m. in the 600 block of E. Oregon Ave. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the second-floor windows of the residence. Crews stretched hose lines from Engine 21 and made an aggressive interior attack on a room and contents fire. As a result, crews were able to knock down the fire in less than six minutes.
Crews overhauled the fire scene to assure any fire was extinguished and later assisted in property preservation efforts from resulting smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
