Two days after it opened its doors in Hermiston, BestMed Urgent Care celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday hosted by the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re so excited to have you here in the community,” said Chamber Director Val Hoxie.

BestMed Urgent Care is an independently-owned clinic at 1623 N. First Street behind Delish Bistro. It has 95 clinics around the country located in seven states. It’s clinics tend to be in smaller areas with limited health care options.

“Our approach has always been to serve patients in rural communities where health care access can be challenging,” said President Erica Hauser.

The Hermiston clinic has 10 staff members and its on-site medical provider, Jadie Wick Dolan, is a 2010 Hermiston High School graduate.

At Thursday’s event, the staff at BestMed Urgent Care gave a tour of the clinic and offered sub sandwiches to the attendees.

For those unfamiliar with urgent care centers, BestMed’s website describes them as bridging “the gap between the emergency room and your primary care physician.” In other words, urgent care centers offer a convenient alternative to the emergency room for non-life-threatening issues.

The clinic is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
