Charles William Sprigg died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Wash., at the age of 70.

He was born Sept. 11, 1942 at Miami, Mo., to Charles Marshall and Doris Lorraine (Brittain) Sprigg.

He was born in Missouri and raised in Wapato, Wash., and graduated from high school there. Charles started riding race horses and then worked for the King Ranch in Texas. He broke horses and rode bulls in rodeos, retiring from bull riding in the early 1970s. On Feb. 27, 1971, he married Carol DeeAnn (Floyd) Flowers in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. He worked in a hide rendering plant in Union Gap, Wash., and then as a fork lift driver at Tyson Foods in Wallula, Wash., for more than 30 years. They moved to Hermiston in 1978 and have lived there since.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed camping, fishing, riding horses, riding 4 wheelers, and being in the outdoors with family and friends.

He is survived by daughter, Carol Scott of Sunnyside, Wash.; sons, Jeff (Patty) Flowers of Kennewick, Wash.,and Terry (Charlotte) Flowers of Naches, Wash.; sister, Beverly (Gabor) Veress of Auburn, Wash.; 7 grandchildren, Kelli, Shanna, Terra, Josh, Megan, Christopher, and Jonathan; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Jordan, and Alexis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol DeeAnn Sprigg, in 2009; parents, Charles and Doris Sprigg; and sister, Brenda Guanga.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 1 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 850 SW 11th Street, in Hermiston. Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
