Charles Wilson, of Hermiston, died on June 3, 2013 at Oregon Health Science University in Portland at the age of 71.

He was born on Jan. 12, 1942 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Leonard and Emme Mary (Hagan) Wilson. Chuck was raised and attended schools in Athena and later Helix. Graduating from Helix High School in the class of 1960. Chuck graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in business administration. He later enrolled in the Intern Teacher Program at Eastern Oregon State College to become a math teacher. Chuck married Sharon Ann Berry on Sept. 12, 1964 in Athena. He then served in the United States Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1967. They moved to Stanfield in 1969 and then to Hermiston in 1971 where they have lived since. Chuck taught at Armand Larive Junior High and Sandstone Junior High for 28 years. He was a member on the First Christian Church, and active in the Gideons, OEA and NEA. Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, golfing, and games.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Wilson, Hermiston; son, Michael L. Wilson and his wife Heather, Woodburn; daughters, Mary Ann (Wilson) Price and her husband Nathaniel, Salem, and Marjorie K. (Wilson) McLagan and her husband Dan, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; sister, Florence Pesterfield, Tillamook; four grandchildren, Kenneth, Erika, Samuel, and Madeliene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; and two infant brothers. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Hermiston.

Burial with military honors will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
