Christmas tree permits are now available for the Umatilla National Forest and the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.
Permits can be purchased for $5 and are limited to one per household. They are valid on National Forest System lands and permit holders are not allowed to cut trees on private, state or federally-managed land.
Christmas tree permits and forest maps are available during regular office hours, Monday through Friday at Umatilla Ranger District offices in Ukiah and Heppner, as well as Ace Hardware in Hermiston.
