Organizers of Hermiston’s Cinco de Mayo celebration are promising an even bigger event that the one held downtown a year ago when well over 1,000 people gathered for the daylong party.
This year’s Cinco de Mayo will actually be held on Sunday, May 4 and will begin with a parade at 10 a.m. on Second Street that will end in front of Hermiston City Hall. Much of the entertainment and activities will take place in the parking lot directly across from city hall, as well as Main Street.
Along with food and other vendors, the day will feature music and dancing from noon to 9 p.m. A beer garden will also be available throughout the day.
The celebration is free to everyone in the community.
