Cynthia J. “Cindy” Wightman Maccarone of Milton-Freewater died on May 1, 2023 in Hermiston at the age of 62.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1960 in Long Beach, Calif. to John and Mary Ellen Wightman.
Cindy was raised and attended schools in California and Medford before her family moved to Milton-Freewater in 1974. She graduated from MacLaughlin High School in the class of 1979. Cindy then attended Walla Walla Community College, where she earned her classification of respiratory therapist. She worked in Portland for a few years before returning to Milton-Freewater. Cindy had worked at Sykes and for Walmart for several years.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, crafts and visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Ellen Wightman, Milton-Freewater; brother, Smokey Joe Wightman (Lisa Mittelsdorf), Boardman; nephews and nieces, Tanner, Taylor, Skylar, Jordan and Jennah; as well as two great-nephews and one great-niece.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Bob Wightman.
A graveside service will be announced.
