Digging will soon begin on upgrades to Boardman’s water and sewer systems.

New pipe can be seen stacked along roadways in preparation for the project. Water and sewer upgrades have been in the planning stages since 2014 and will include new water and sewer lines in several areas throughout Boardman.

The upgrades are designed to ensure reliability in the city’s water and wastewater systems and will improve fire flow. In December the city awarded the contract to do the upgrades to Premier Excavation of Pasco, Wash. Sixteen bids were received at the time, with Premier Construction coming in the with the apparent lowest bid of $2,266,119.10.

The city’s engineers, Anderson Perry and Associates, has worked with Premier in the past and is pleased to be working with them on this project. The water and sewer upgrades are expected to be completed in October of 2018.
