The city of Hermiston and Oregon Department of Education are again partnering to provide the Free Lunch at the Park program this summer.

Free meals for children 18 and under are offered at Hermiston parks every weekday of the summer. No paperwork is required.

“Our goal is to remove all barriers and make sure meals are getting to kids who need a good lunch,” said program manager Diana Picard. “A big part of Hermiston Parks and Rec’s mission is to improve community health, and this program is a great way to do that when kids are out of school.”

This is the 15th year of the service, which now includes five locations:

  • Hermiston Family Aquatic Center, 11:30-11:45 a.m.
  • Sunset Park, 11:30-11:45 a.m.
  • Butte Park, Noon-12:15 p.m.
  • Sunset Elementary School, 12:15-12:30 p.m.
  • Victory Square Park, 12:30-12:45 p.m.
