The city of Pendleton has received a grant to improve cybersecurity.
The Oregon Department of Emergency Management (OEM) oversees the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program to support state, local and tribal governments with managing and reducing systemic cyber risk. OEM notified the City of Pendleton of its grant award on Wednesday.
Pendleton IT Manager Lieden Cook said the $36,126 grant will help the city of Pendleton identify and prevent cyber threats in city systems.
“We are grateful for this funding from OEM,” Cook said. “This will enhance our network monitoring capabilities for earlier threat detection.”
