The Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department is offering those 14 and over the chance to explore the Umatilla Wildlife Refuge with expert guides from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Guides will take participants to shores and islands of the wildlife refuge for the best opportunity to see wildlife and learn about the flora and fauna. The event begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. The sign-up deadline is June 24. The cost is $30 for city residents and $38 for non-residents. Kayaks are available for rent for $5. Those ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
